Other services: stimulate mental awareness, offer companionship, escort to appointments, help with reading, assist mobility, plan visits, outings and trips, attend clubs, meetings and events, organise mail and write letters, help with shopping, participate in hobbies and crafts, monitor diet and eating, provide medication reminders.
Early Onset Dementia Day Unit
Our day unit at Jackson Court in Hazlemere provides specialist care for early onset dementia outside of the home setting. Our day unit service has been running since March 2000 and aims to provide support to dementia sufferers up to the age of 70 years. The unit currently runs on a Tuesday and Friday offering clients support through a variety of social activities, including 'Singing for the Brain', a new initiative introduced by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Children's Saturday Clubs
Our children’s Saturday Clubs have been developed in conjunction with Buckinghamshire Social Services who kindly provided the funding for this much needed service. We currently run clubs in both Aylesbury and High Wycombe with the aim being to provide learning and support for young people aged 12 to 19 years old with physical and learning disabilities. Each young person attending our clubs receives a tailor-made programme specific to their needs, enabling them to learn and develop important life skills as they mature into adulthood, meet new people, have independent time away from the home setting and have some great fun in the process.
